It will be ready when its ready plain and simple. Then of course they have to test it right away.

Lol what is wrong with everyone here? You all sound like your connection is breaking up every half an hour or so... If your connection is such a crap, stick to the offline games.
P.S. I know shit happens, and that even best conenctions sometimes snap, but still...what a hell? Sounds as you can't live without reconnect option.

Allow me to try to speak to those "you have a lousy connection and shouldn't be playing this game" people. Case in point: Eight people questing. All from different parts of the country and on different servers with different IP address. Five totally lag/freeze and three disconnect at the same time. Please .... explain to me what that has to do with MY connection? Same thing has happened more times than I can count, but that is the most recent (8/10/07)

Just a little bit of heads up, in case anyone else has a freezing problem. I think i may have been connected to the said PC through GuildWiki, its the only website that is registered as dangerous when i visit it. Needless to sat i'm sticking to the official wiki.
Dood... This is completely off topic, but... I LOVE YOUR AVATAR!!! lol

Actually I was asking because a few guildies were wanting to know as some people do not have any choice but to deal with disconnects. And as stated by -several- people it has been worse lately. All I was doing was asking. I could say something really rude in response to something a few posts above but I will pass. Thanks for posting the info about the update.

Edit: Reconnects are still not working....

Our alliance is really feeling the pain of no reconnects, we've been doing Deep/Urgoz alot more since Mallyx is nigh impossible to kill nowadays and nothing sucks more than having your key players D/C in the middle of it. That and PvP is suffering too due to the same problems.

I know it's a hard task to take care of, but the lethargy between now and EoTN will be even more boring when people fear disconnects in the middle of their favorite activities.

Please don't disable trading in mission or explorable areas. I have some good friends and guildies (*cough* Stuey *cough*) that will simply NEVER EVER have more than 4 inventory slots free on a character at any time (luv ya man, couldn't pass it up, sorry.)

Seriously, even if you go in with lots of room, vanquishing a fairly large map or, say, clearing UW for kicks with a guild team - you're going to run out of room. If you're with friends, you get to keep even more stuff if you keep all the stackable stuff everyone gets in one slot on one character's inventory. There's nothing wrong with that. It's teamwork!

Also, often out in the wild, stuff drops that most players don't want. They just leave it. But if someone is say, collecting materials for some new armor, the person it dropped for will pick it up just to hand it to the guy that wants it.

If you're going to take away our ability to trade out in the wild, please add merchant npc's to every map, even missions? Artisans and crafters work as merchants to sell to, but they're not in most Tyrian maps.

Cheers,
Luny

If you have only 4 slots open on a character, out of the 45 available, you are hanging onto way too much stuff. Even with alternate armor sets and extra weapons, that's just ridiculous. Either merch some stuff or make a mule, don't drag it all with you on an active character.

Maybe Anet should implement a slowing effect to characters that cart around excess junk...

To be honest, I'd rather have dupes in the game than not have reconnects, but I know they're not about to put the existing bug back in. In any case, getting this feature back should be the number one priority for anet right now, its absense is not winning them any fans.

Anet doesn't have to, it's in place already. Said packrats have to stop every 5 minutes to answer in-game whispers for price checks, trade deals, unbans from guru, /ignore flamers, etc.

Really, the 4 slot thing was just poking fun at Stuey. When I go out, the only things in my inventory are ID/salvage kits and the weapons I'm going to use. I still run out of space in big maps, even with salvaging. Try vanquishing Snake Dance/Dreadnought's/Lornar's or even Diessa/Temple/Dragon's Gullet. You run out of room to keep all your stuff, even if you salvage most of it. Being able to share piles with friends helps a lot.

Some people don't care about drops, some do. I don't see why those of us that find it sinful to leave money on the ground should lose out.

Sorry to take the thread off topic. I just didn't want to see "bring reconnects back and disable trading outside," go by without any disagreement voiced.

Punk Luny. I have more than 4 open spaces, it's like .. 5. Who's going to listen to a "Licensed Luny" anyhow Actually I have more space just transfer between characters. Don't like having to buy a character just to have it sit there. Some people don't have the money to throw around just to do so. As for the space issue, it'd be nice if they just added merchants to every rez shrine like they have in areas of Factions, that would take care of a lot of issues. Either way I do not want to see trading taken out outside because when you go out and someone who is not perfect like others and sits there and organizes their whole GW life to remember to bring everything with them and needs something while out doing a mission - or is in a hurry and forgets, you do not want to restart just to give them something.

I also agree reconnects should be a big priority. I do not want it back at the expense of others or to allow someone to cheat the game though.

i have not had a lot of problems with disconects untill the past 10 days or so. But yesterday was the worst. Trying to vanquish Morostav trail...get to 266 foes vanqwuished and get disconected. It was not just me at that moment...it was me, and another guild member. We went out with heros. Did real well, up to 266. We both froze for about a minute or so, then we both get the usless reconnect screen only to find our hard work was for nothing. This happened 3 times yesterday, at (always) exactly 266 foes vanquished. Do I dare try again? I just dont know if it is worth it.

Then dupers could do guild hall scrimmages(are fixed GvGs still in game, like unrated challenges to specific guilds where both must accept?), or Zaishen Challenge, or whatever.

If I can think of it in 2 seconds, so can they. I miss reconnects, but please fix the dupe exploit first.

as i said previously "the wallet stays closed till this feature is back" in my mind it really simple, would i buy a motorcar that stopped every 500yrds? or a tv set that would only let me watch 1 channel? ermmm no i wouldnt, so why would i buy another chapter/expansion of a game that wont let me play it missions to end(without an annoying 007error).
its easy if you want my money = fix your game.

I know several of my guild members had a dc at the same time when they were in Deep. That was most probably not a client-side incident (they are located in various parts of Europe and Middle East).
Later that evening, we had 2 people dc while vanquishing.
Those were probably client-side issues.
However, I'd still like A-net to be sure people can't dupe items anymore before they release reconnects again.
Being in a guild with mostly HM and elite area players no reconnects hurt, but people won't leave the guild for it (they might abandon GW, but that's an other problem).
